Dana White’s Contender Series is getting close to wrapping up its sixth season, and save for week 1, this year has delivered. 10 more fighters will have their chance at a UFC contract this Tuesday night.
The opening bout will feature bantamweights Brandon Lewis (6-1) and Daniel Marcos (12-0). LFA vet and DWCS alum Brandon Lewis lost his first chance at a UFC contract when he fell to Mo Miller last year and hopes to make up for it this time around. Marcos is the former 300 Sparta bantamweight champion and undefeated at 12-0 with seven finishes but hasn’t fought since 2019.
Women’s flyweights take center stage in the next fight as Bruna Brasil (7-2-1) faces Marnic Mann (5-0). Brasil has won her last six fights, her most recent victory in May while Mann picked up her most recent win in April, both while under the LFA banner.
In the feature bout, undefeated lightweights Malik Lewis (5-0) and Trevor Peek (6-0) face off. Lewis is the current Peak Fighting lightweight champion and all his wins have come by finish. Peek has dropped down from welterweight after winning the title for Aries Fight Series, all of his wins have been by knockout.
In the middleweight co-main event, Combat Sambo world champion Ikram Aliskerov (12-1) faces Brazil’s Mario Sousa (15-2). Aliskerov is a Dagestani fighter who has won 4 world championships for 2 different organizations, most recently competing for Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Eagle FC fight promotion. Aliskerov’s lone loss came against current UFC superstar Khamzat Chimaev. Sousa has competed on DWCS twice before, losing to contract winner Chidi Njokuani last year, and is on a two-fight win streak since then.
In the bantamweight main event, Xtreme Couture’s Farid Basharat (8-0) takes on Team Alpha Male’s Allan Begosso (7-1-1). Farid Basharat, the younger brother of UFC fighter Javid Basharat, is looking to win a contract just as his brother did. LFA vet Begosso is looking to snag a ticket to the UFC after a 3-1 run in the promotion which included all finishes.
