DWCS Week 5: Mick Parkin vs. Eduardo Neves live results and highlights.

After an exciting  Week 4 show, Dana White’s Contender Series returns on Tuesday, Aug. 23, for another night of action. At DWCS week 5, 10 fighters vying for a shot at a highly coveted UFC contract will battle inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, NV.

DWCS week 5 is headlined by a heavyweight clash between Mick Parkin (5-0) vs. Eduardo Neves (5-0). Both fighters have identical resumes with five knockouts each; however, there is a stark contrast in the level of opposition each man has faced. Neves’ combined opponent record is 12-5, with three of five fighters being undefeated. On the other hand, Parkin has never met a single fighter with a winning record. Parkin’s combined opponent record is a lopsided 18-46.

The opening bout of DWCS week 5 is a strawweight fight between Denise Gomes (5-1) and Rayanne Amanda (11-5). With four of her five wins coming by submission, the 22-year-old Gomes is a big favorite over the more experienced Amanda.

DWCS Week 5 will feature five action-packed bouts across five different divisions

Following the women’s opener is a bantamweight battle between Josh Wang-Kim (5-1) and Cameron Saaiman (5-0). Wang-Kim is the slight favorite over the undefeated South African Saaiman. With both fighters holding wins by knockout and submission, this fight could end in any fashion.

The third fight of the evening is a flyweight clash against Erisson Ferreira (11-1) and Jesus Santos Aguilar (7-1). According to Tapology, Aguilar is ranked as Mexico’s No. 8 flyweight. Despite this, he is the underdog against the more experienced “Gato” Ferreira, who is Brazil’s No. 41-ranked flyweight.

For the penultimate bout of DWCS week 5, welterweights Amiran Gogoladze (14-2) and Darrius Flowers (11-5) will face off. “The Sniper” Gogoladze is a considerable -350 favorite against “Beast Mode” Flowers.
