Who is Yazmin Jauregui?
Meet the rising name taking the spotlight for women’s MMA strawweight division by storm, Yazmin Jauregui.
Jauregui is not only undefeated, but she is also a sensational fighter turning heads with a knockout power that secured her UFC debut this weekend on the main card of UFC San Diego.
Jauregui is relatively new in the sport of MMA, with just less than four years of professional experience. However, there is a reason she has entered the UFC roster with great expectations and is projected to be the future strawweight champion.
Near the end of 2018, the Mexican women’s contender started her professional fight career at just 19 years of age, giving a memorable debut fight with a first-round finish in under three minutes.
Since then, she has dominated her performances with her precise power striking and Mexican-boxing style. Yazmin currently holds an undefeated record of eight wins, six by knockout, and two unanimous decisions. Five of those fights have ended in the first round, including her fastest, a 13-second knockout.
To further display her athletic artistry through her sharp speed and explosive power; she holds the record of the third fastest knockout in women’s combat history and statistics calculate her average fight time of just over seven minutes in the cage.
Jauregui trains out of Entram Gym out of Tijuana, Mexico, the former home gym for UFC champion Brandon Moreno.
