UFC San Diego: Marlon Vera vs. Dominick Cruz odds breakdown
The UFC is leaving Las Vegas for “America’s finest city” San Diego, CA. UFC San Diego currently features 13 fights from the Pechanga Arena on Saturday, Aug.13, 2022, with the early prelims starting at 4 p.m ET on ESPN+.
The main event features top 10 bantamweights Marlon “Chito” Vera and Dominick Cruz. Vera is on a three-fight win streak after a 2020 loss to legend Jose Aldo and is ranked No. 5 at bantamweight. Cruz is ranked No. 8 at bantamweight and is coming off a convincing win over Pedro Munhoz, and looking to make one more push towards re-claiming UFC gold. Clash of styles in this contest with the aggression of Vera versus the crafty footwork of Cruz.
In the co-main event, David Onama vs. Nate Landwehr may lack the storyline or rankings but should bring the action. Onama has finished his last two fights after starting his UFC career with a loss. Across the octagon Landwehr is fighting for the first time since finishing Ludovit Klein in October 2021, suffering through two bout cancelations this year. Both fighters don’t often go to the scorecards so don’t blink.
UFC San Diego isn’t filled with close contests in the betting odds. Out of several juicy spreads, the largest is Gabriel Benitez (-350) vs. Charlie Ontiveros (+290) and Lupita Godinez (-325) vs. short notice specialist Angela Hill (+270).
