Molly McCann secures slick KO, jumps over the cage for UFC belt in the crowd.

UFC flyweight Molly McCann used the emotions of the London faithful to earn a vicious late-round knockout of Luana Carolina.

McCann got off to a fast start against Carolina at UFC London. She blitzed Carolina with a barrage of strikes that seemed to overwhelm her, nearly making quick work of the tough Brazilian.

But, Carolina would manage to survive McCann’s blitz and start to turn things around as the fight went on. McCann had success with her grappling in Round 2 but appeared gassed after the early high output.

Carolina opened up Round 3 with some gamesmanship on the feet, landing some hard punches that appeared to stun McCann. But, McCann quickly responded with a wild spinning elbow knockout that put Carolina to sleep.

McCann’s post-fight celebration almost eclipsed the allure of her knockout finish. She ran into the O2 Arena crowd and brought a UFC belt back into the cage, a clear statement that she has title aspirations in 2022.

Molly McCann is a UFC flyweight to watch in 2022

McCann has now won two fights in a row after passing her last UFC test against Ji Yeon Kim last September. She signed with the UFC back in 2018 following her win of the flyweight title in Cage Warriors.

McCann got off to a rough start to her UFC tenure, losing her debut to Gillian Robertson in May 2018. But, she bounded in a big way with three-straight victories over the likes of Diana Belbita, Ariane Lipski, and Priscila Cachoeira in 2019.

Carolina came into UFC London rising high off of back-to-back gritty wins over Loopy Godinez and Poliana Botelho last year.

McCann enters the UFC flyweight title picture with her statement knockout of Carolina and could run the table in 2022.
