After Ronda Rousey made a return to WWE and won the Royal Rumble, the idea of Ronda Rousey in UFC again is deader than it’s ever been before.

If you still believed in 2022 that Ronda Rousey would ever return to the UFC, I have a bridge in New York City to sell you.

But WWE? That’s now officially a different story.

After much rumor and speculation, along with a report she was asked about a potential return, Rousey returned to the Vince McMahon-led wrestling promotion as an unannounced participant at the 2022 Royal Rumble.

Not only that, but Rousey won the event’s women’s titular match, last eliminating SmackDown Women’s champion Charlotte Flair, ensuring her a championship matchup at WrestleMania 38 in Arlington, Texas, come early April.

Don’t expect Ronda Rousey in the UFC ever again, especially after WWE return and Royal Rumble win

Rousey, of course, made her name in the world of MMA first, transitioning to the sport after winning an Olympic bronze medal in judo at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Between 2011 and 2016, Rousey competed in 14 MMA bouts. She defeated rival Miesha Tate in March 2012 to become Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champion.

As champion, she’d make her way over to the UFC, becoming the first female signed to the UFC and first UFC women’s bantamweight champion. She’d successfully defend her title against Liz Carmouche, Tate, Sara McMann, Alexis Davis, Cat Zingano and Bethe Correia before her upset loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193.

She’d return at UFC 207 but was obliterated in 46 seconds by then-champion Amanda Nunes.

Rousey would then transition to pro wrestling, making her WWE debut at the 2018 Royal Rumble and her in-ring debut a few months later at WrestleMania 34.

And with all she’s done since leaving the UFC, she’s never going back. If somehow anyone had this thought still in their head, time to put it to bed. It’s already been up past its bedtime longer than it should have.
