This stat about UFC star Khamzat Chimaev’s dominant run will blow your mind.

Khamzat Chimaev has made fighting in the UFC octagon look easy, with four-straight finishes to begin his tenure with the promotion.

But a recent statistic that is trending on social media points out that Chimaev’s dominance is even more eye-opening than most previously thought.

Chimaev earned another first-round submission at UFC 267, this time over UFC veteran Li Jingliang. After throwing Jingliang around in the opening seconds of the bout, Chimaev sunk in a deep rear-naked choke to cap off another stellar performance.

As MMA reporter Aaron Bronsteter pointed out, Chimaev has only suffered one significant strike through four UFC fights.

Chimaev first made a name for himself in 2020, as he earned three-straight finishes in UFC fights in a span of just over two months. He also took a short-notice fight at middleweight against Gerald Meerschaert, knocking him out in just 17 seconds.

What’s remarkable about Chimaev’s latest win is the fact that it was his first fight after more than a year away from competition. He suffered from a severe case of COVID-19 that led him to briefly retire, before returning to action in 2021.

Chimaev signed with the UFC after a dominant run in Brave CF, in which he earned four straight finishes. He was originally known for his wrestling, but his boxing has become another strength of his rather than a weakness.

At 27 years old, Chimaev is just getting started in his professional career. If his recent performances are any indication, he could be a wrecking ball in the promotion for years to come.
