Bellator 262: Johnny Eblen is the fighter to watch
Johnny Eblen is the fighter to watch at Bellator 262.
Bellator 262 is almost all about further the blossoming star that is Julianna Velasquez, the newly crowned Bellator flyweight champion. She prepares to take on a game Denise Kielholtz for her first title defense. On the rest of the card, there are some interesting prospects carving out their space in Bellator. Johnny Eblen is looking to continue his undefeated streak and move up in the middleweight division.
At 29-years old, Eblen brings with him an 8-0 professional record. He fights out of the famed American Top Team, which gives him access to some of the best minds and training partners in the industry.
Eblen joined Bellator back in 2019 and has appeared for the promotion four times since. Back at Bellator 258 he finished Daniel Madrid in the first round of their contest by knockout. Even as he rides that undefeated streak, he is focused on competing at his highest each time he steps into the cage.
“There’s a potential for a loss, but there’s also a potential for me being undefeated so I try not to focus on things that I can control,” Eblen told FanSided during an interview in May. “So, the things I can control are like you know what I do every day and my habits, how I train, how I take care of myself, how I fight.”
His opponent is 10-4 Travis Davis. This is Davis’s first appearance in Bellator, as he is riding a two-fight winning streak. His career consists of fighting across the regional scene before making the move over to Bellator.
