5 UFC fighters who could have played in the MLB

Jeremy Stephens- San Diego Padres
Jeremy Stephens is a top fighter in the UFC featherweight division, although recently he has had a hard time, losing his last four with a No Contest thrown in there. Stephens seems to get a bad rap with fans. He was on the wrong side of a Conor McGregor verbal jab at a press conference and fans turned on him pretty quick. When a fighter is not performing the way some think they should be it is easy to forget exactly how good of an athlete they really are, and Stephens is very good.
As a kid, Stephens wrestled, played basketball, and baseball. He had great talent in baseball but chose to pursue fighting at 18 years old. He still enjoys the game of baseball, attending games with friends, and messing around with skills here and there.
He was born in Iowa but now fights out of San Diego. He even threw out the first pitch for a Padres game, and that is why he would make a good fit in San Diego.
“Thanks, Padres for allowing me to throw out the first pitch of the ball game,” Stephens wrote on Instagram. “Reminds me of when I was a youngster all the years of playing ball, friends, and teammates I had and memories along the journey of some greatest summers of mine!”
Maybe Stephens could take a page out of Ferguson’s book and bring baseball training and MMA training together. Strong arms are beneficial for both sports and many other skills could transcend both sports. If playing is out a simple love for the game is great as well.
