Tony Ferguson- Yankees

Tony Ferguson is an interesting guy. He is a great fighter and one of the top guys in the UFC lightweight division. He trains hard and fights even harder. You never knew what Ferguson is going to do and that is what makes him a fan favorite. If you follow him on social media you know that some of his workouts are unconventional. He can often be seen flipping around and balancing on things that humans should be balancing on. One thing he likes to incorporate in his training is baseball.

Ferguson is not only a fighter, but he is a trainer as well. He works with baseball players at his gym and has some skills in that department himself. He has shown his throwing skills on a number of occasions on Instagram and recently took some of his athletes to that ball field to run some drill.

“I just opened my doors to other athletics,” Ferguson told Ariel Helwani of ESPN. “I have a major league baseball player in here now. I’m a performance trainer, I ain’t no coach, I ain’t old.”

Although Ferguson is a Dodgers fan, he seems like a guy who would thrive in the New York setting. Imagine Ferguson on the Yankees, doing his thing and playing in the big apple. He seems to thrive on the big stage, and in sports, there is no bigger stage than New York City. Ferguson seems frustrated with the UFC at the moment with not having fights that he wants. Now that he has baseball players around him, maybe the next step would be baseball. Not really as a player at this point, but as a trainer for sure, when fighting is over.
