Stipe Miocic- Cleveland Indians

Stipe Miocic is the baddest man on the planet. The UFC heavyweight champion is known for his skills inside the Octagon, but Miocic also has skills on the baseball diamond. Before beginning his MMA career, Miocic was starring as a college baseball player. He actually could have gone the way of a professional baseball player.

Miocic attended Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee. During his time there he played on the baseball team and in 2005 alone, Miocic had a .344 batting average, with seven home runs and 43 RBIs to lead the Trojans to a Conference title. Miocic spoke to ESPN about his time after playing ball and what led him to the UFC.

“I got done with school and went back home to become a firefighter and a paramedic I was training in the gym just to make money.” Miocic. “A guy I was friends with fought in the UFC and asked if I could help him with the fights throughout, and I just never left the gym.”

Even though he stopped playing baseball, his love of the game has never stopped. Miocic showed off some of his baseball skills having thrown out the first pitch for his beloved Clevland Indians. If Miocic had made it to the majors, the Indians would be his team. Some say that when Miocic won his first UFC title that paved the way for other Cleavland teams to win the title, breaking a supposed curse for the city.
