5. Cody Garbrandt

Unlike some of the tattoos spoken about already that you might not notice if you saw that fighter on the street, Cody Garbrandt’s tattoos you certainly would. The tattoos on the former bantamweight champion stick out right at you. The neck tattoo is the most noticeable and maybe the most outstanding of all his tattoos.

“I got the neck tattoo, like dude, this is it,” Garbrandt told GQ. “I gotta be a fighter because I’m not getting a job anywhere else.”

Like many of the fighters listed here, Garbrandt began his love for tattoos at an early age, but maybe they didn’t love him back.

“When I got my first tattoo, I was 14,” Garbrandt said. “Me and my brother made an agreement with our mom and said, we won a state title or a national title that year, we would go and get a tattoo. We ended up winning national titles, and as soon as we won the national title, we’re like, alright mom, you gotta keep your end of the deal. I got a cross with a ribbon tied around it on my back. I never had hives in my life, but this the first time I got done with my tattoo, and I was covered in hives.”

Many more tattoos can be found on Garbrandt each with a story much like this. If the tattoos made him choose the path of a fighter then there are many fans out there that should be happy that he started with the ink at all.
