Who is new UFC signee Guram Kutateladze?
Guram Kutateladze becomes the latest addition to the UFC’s talent-rich lightweight division according to a report on Monday morning by Adjara Sport, a Georgian MMA media outlet.

Kutateladze enters the promotion at 11-2, having won eight-straight bouts. In that stretch, five of those wins came by KO/TKO, while the other three were decision victories. Notable wins include Zsolt Fenyes, Joachim Tollefsen, Arturo Chavez, Gocha Smoyan, Nicolas Joannes, Erick Da Silva and Felipe Silva, to name a few.
Kutateladze has a 73 percent finish rate and is primarily a striker, but is comfortable with wherever the fight takes place, as he does have one submission victory on his record — a 2010 armbar of Dimitri Izoria.
Kutateladze does not have a debut bout set quite yet, but it’s safe to say that he will get booked rather quickly, given the UFC’s consistent track record of weekly events throughout the summer and continuation into the fall season.
How does Kutateladze stack up against the competition?
Given Kutateladze’s eight-fight winning streak, he already rides a lot of momentum upon his first Octagon appearance.
According to the most recent lightweight rankings, there are a lot of options for Kutateladze’s first opponent. However, based on record and experience, Kutateladze most logical adversary would be UFC veteran Alexander Hernandez.
Hernandez only has one more fight to his name and has been with the UFC since 2018. Like Kutateladze, Hernandez is a striker but doesn’t mind taking it to the floor either. Hernandez is looking to rebound from a TKO loss to Drew Dober in May, as he has gone 3-2 in his last five outings. It’s an interesting clash of styles and would be fun to see play out.
