Ranking all of former champ-champ Conor McGregor’s 10 UFC victories from best to worst following his UFC 246 victory over Donald Cerrone.

Former UFC champ-champ Conor McGregor is back in the spotlight again following his 40 second TKO of Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone at UFC 246. The win marked the first victory for the most famous MMA fighter since 2016. Though this performance was incredibly impressive, it brings critics to wonder where this victory lines up in a long line of important wins for McGregor. We’ve taken all of his 10 Octagon wins and placed them in order using not only actions within the cage but the career implications each bout had.

1. UFC 205 – Defeated Eddie Alvarez via TKO – Nov. 2016

This performance shot Mcgregor into the record books, it could be no other in the No. 1 spot. When McGregor (the featherweight champion) announced he’d be going after the lightweight title most thought he was crazy. Few thought he could win. But that’s exactly what he did when he knocked out the reigning champion, Eddie Alvarez, in the main event at the historic UFC 205 fight card. It took McGregor less than two rounds to pick apart Alvarez and become the first-ever UFC fighter to hold titles in two divisions at the same time. He even coined the, now popular, phrase “champ-champ.”

2. UFC 194 – Defeated José Aldo via KO – Dec. 2015

When the time finally came for McGregor to face the toughest test of his career, the highly anticipated fight between he and reigning featherweight king José Aldo, no one thought he’d defeat him so handily. McGregor unified the featherweight title in just 13 seconds and completely silenced all doubters. The new featherweight king had arrived.

Also worth it to note that McGregor secured the fastest finish in UFC championship history with that victory, a fate that still has yet to be matched.

3. UFC 246 – Defeated Donald Cerrone via TKO – Jan. 2020

This victory marked the resurgence of a man many felt was finished for good. McGregor stepped into the Octagon nearly four years removed from his most recent victory. A win, even a hard-fought decision was what McGregor needed in order to reassert himself as one of the greatest of all times … and he did it in just 40 seconds. McGregor silenced the haters and re-awoke his massive fanbase who had been sitting holding their breaths for years.

4. UFC 189- Defeated Chad Mendes via TKO – July 2015

This fight marked the first time that McGregor held a UFC title. When his original opponent was forced to withdraw from the bout Chad Mendes stepped up hoping to stop the hype train and derail any chances of McGregor holding a UFC title. He almost did it when he took McGregor to the ground, but in round two it was all McGregor and the first strap (interim) was placed around McGregor’s waist.

5. UFC Fight Night: McGregor vs. Siver – Defeated Dennis Siver via TKO – Jan. 2015

This was another phenomenal performance for McGregor, but what most people remember about this fight was the moment McGregor leaped over the Octagon walls to confront Jose Aldo. That moment marked the rise into superstardom for McGregor and frankly, he could have done anything in the cage, it was all forgotten once Aldo got involved.

6. UFC on Fuel TV: Mousasi vs. Latifi – Defeated Marcus Brimage via TKO – April 2013

This bout represents something no other bout can ever do again — it served as the world’s introduction to McGregor and we can never go back. McGregor shot into the spotlight when he stunned in his UFC debut with a 1:07 knockout of Marcus Brimage. This also marked the first of many performance bonuses’ for the Irishman.

7. UFC 202 – Defeated Nate Diaz via majority decision – Aug. 2016

This bout is still highly debated and that’s why it appears so low on the list. Some believe McGregor lost the bout (I don’t). But this fight marked a pivotal moment in McGregor’s career. He proved he can avenge a loss. This bout came after his first UFC loss to Nate Diaz and he was able to secure the slim win with a majority decision.

8. UFC Fight Night: McGregor vs. Brandão – Defeated Diego Brandão via TKO – July 2014

Though this wasn’t the best of McGregor’s fights it was one with a hell of a lot of meaning. This marked the first of many headlining fights and was held in McGregor’shome country of Ireland. McGregor stopped Brandão in the very first round that night.

9. UFC 178 – Defeated Dustin Poirier via TKO – Sept. 2014

McGregor secured the third bonus of his career when he TKO’d Dustin Poirier in under two minutes. Though it wasn’t the fastest finish of his career, it was still pretty fun to watch him dismantle Poirier so quickly.

10. UFC Fight Night: Shogun vs. Sonnen – Defeated Max Holloway via decision – Aug.2013

How is it possible to chose a bad winning performance from McGregor? It’s like asking for the least desirable slice of pizza … it doesn’t exist. I ultimately chose his unanimous decision win over Max Holloway because of it’s lack outside meaning. It was just a fight on his way to the top, there was no deeper meaning. I also picked it for No. 10 as it’s one of only two decision wins on his UFC record.

What do you think? Did we get the order right?
