25 biggest celebrity MMA fans: The Rock, Snoop Dogg, Madonna and more
By Amy Kaplan
11. Snoop Dogg
Rapper Snoop Dogg turned his UFC fandom into a job with the promotion.
Videos of Snoop reacting to UFC fights went viral leading him to a color commentary role briefly during Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series.
Not everyone enjoyed his ply-by-play, or his social media commentary mocking UFC champion Daniel Cormier’s post-loss crying photo or when he rubbed salt in the wound when Conor McGregor lost to Floyd Mayweather. Fighters banded together to ask White to reconsider hiring a man who was spreading negativity about the fighters he was supposed to be promoting.
He did not return for the second season of the show though that won’t stop him from loving MMA and we’d bet he’ll play a part of the UFC commentary team again at some point.
10. Charlize Theron
Charlize Theron sitting cageside is almost as normal as seeing UFC President Dana White. She’s a staple to the sport just like Muay Thai gloves and the Reebok fight kits. She’s even been interviewed about her love for the sport — multiple times.
Theron has been spotted sitting cage-side getting just as rowdy as any other “normal” fan might. She was even spotted allegedly giving Polish heavyweight Marcin Tybura a double middle finger when he defeated Luis Henrique at UFC 209. Those claims have never been confirmed, but if she’s anything like the average UFC fan, I wouldn’t put it past her.
Theron has even trained in the arts in preparation for her role in Atomic Blonde, where she reportedly did quite a few of her own stunts. She even once told Conan O’Brien that she was “obsessed” with the sport… really who could blame her?
