2. Chuck Liddell

If you know anything about the sport of MMA then the name Chuck Liddell should be at the forefront of your mind. This man was devastating and beautiful to watch. He fought all over the world and handed out some of the most brutal knockouts that the world has ever seen, some of which still remain in lists to this day.

He ruled the UFC light heavyweight division for a number of years and did so in a violent fashion as the divisions champion. Chuck lived by the sword and his career most certainly died by the sword.

Liddell (21-8) defended his championship belt four times before being beaten and dethroned by Rampage Jackson in 2007. Prior to the loss, Chuck had won 8 of his last 10 including brutal stoppages of Tito Ortiz x2, Randy Couture x2, Jeremy Horn and Renato Sobral.

After losing his title Chuck dropped four of his last five fights all via knockout but it was the loss to Rashad Evans that really was the beginning of the end. It was one of the most brutal and most violent one punch knockouts the MMA world has ever seen.

During an exchange, Evans landed a huge right hand that immediately put Liddell to sleep. The shot landed with so much force that in the slow-motion replay it looked as the former champion may have a terrible neck injury from the power of the shot landed.

Liddell lay on the canvas in a crumpled heap and with it, his legendary UFC career was over. It may have taken three more brutal losses for him to actually retire but the damage was well and truly done in his meeting with Evans. Years of wars and punishment caught up with him on that night in 2008.
