7. Israel Adesanya
The UFC middleweight champion is often critiqued by many. Fans and other fighters have been on Israel Adesanya’s back beginning from his rise up the rankings. It seems that after his most recent win over Paulo Costa people are even more on the attack. Adesanya isn’t one to back down from any bullies, whether on social media or in the Octagon. His tattoos are representations of his fierce personality and spirit.
On his chest are the words “Broken Native” running across his chest with a portrait of Africa with a lion in the middle of it. Adesanya spoke to GQ about these two tattoos and the meaning behind them.

“Broken Native, I coined that name when I was younger for a crew that I was running with, a dance crew, Adesanya said. “Over the years, I just realized that’s been my whole life story. I’ve always been like the odd one out, the bat amongst doves, the pebble amongst stones. As a native, I’m kinda broken. I just like the way it sounds, broken native. You look at my chest, you see that’s where he’s from because I even outline Nigeria. I feel like Superman when I rock it. I don’t need an ‘S’ on my chest. I’ve got Africa with me.”
He has many others, some that represent his love for anime and what gave him his nickname of Stylebender.
